I use Parts I–III as group work for my introductory physiology class.
The parts are due one week apart, and coincide with our discussion of
organic molecules (Part I) and neuron function (Part II). Part III I
assign as extra credit. In Part II students are asked to draw
diagrams but many of them just grab images from the World Wide Web.
Also, instead of working in groups, I find that students assign
questions to each other without regard to the fact that the answers
to one question often lead into the next question. However, for the
most part I find this case to be very useful and students appreciate
learning about how caffeine affects them.
