Assume that asbestos is found in the ceiling tiles of a local elementary school. Write a short essay (3 pages) presenting a plan of action on what the community should do about the school. Keep in mind that school districts have very limited funding, and removing asbestos is very expensive. (There are also other reasons why removing asbestos might not always be the best option.) Your plan should detail the information you need to gather about the site and how this information will steer future actions of the school board. (You will probably use many “if … then” statements.) Also, explain your actions, so that the community will understand why you’re taking your planned actions.
Your essay should:
- Be typewritten and double-spaced, with a 12-point font and 1-inch margins.
- Be well organized, and include an introduction and conclusion.
- Include detailed, correct, and convincing arguments based on factual evidence.
- Cite references where necessary, and include a bibliography if you do cite references. The bibliography would be a fourth page.
